If you ride with Hip Hop, this is your night. Flow Lounge is a weekly, free Hip Hop gathering where open-mic energy, live DJs, and a raw rap-writing contest collide — a place for spectators, new artists, seasoned heads, and anyone who loves the culture to show up, create, and be seen. Doors open at 8:00 PM. Rapper check-in is 9:00 PM. The contest kicks off at 10:00 PM.

Each week, we post the topic and beats on Instagram — contestants write two 16-bar verses to the prompt (hooks and crowd participation encouraged) and bring them to the stage. Format: 12 MCs enter Round One; Each person in the crowd has three votes per round; the top four vote-getters advance to Round Two after a short break. The audience selects the winner in Round Two; cash prize follows.

Beyond the contest, you’ll find DJs, live visuals, and community moments — always free to attend, always paying artists.

Help us expand the San Francisco

Thanks to the community's overwhelming support, Flow Lounge is preparing to expand. We’ve laid the foundation in Berkeley, and now we’re setting our sights on San Francisco and beyond. This isn’t just about geography—it’s about building a network of cultural spaces where Hip Hop can thrive, unapologetically.

But we can’t do it without you. Flow Lounge operates as a free, community-centered platform funded by donations. Your support has brought us this far, and with enough monthly donors, we can make the expansion to San Francisco a reality.
